A simple thing, maybe, but also a realization that as much as I could take care of myself, there were going to be times when I didn’t have to. When I could just let go and let someone else hold the reins for awhile. I think that is the best thing about a solid relationship. The understanding that we don’t always have to be in control, and the knowledge that when we crumble – or just get a wicked case of the flu – there is someone there to hold it all together for awhile.
